The family business Bloquert-Davesne, rue des Bonnetiers has existed since 1863. Originally, in this factory built in red bricks, hundreds of women workers made hats, knitwear, scarves and socks by hand.

It was not until 1966 that Jean-Yves BLOQUERT changed his name to create the Kindy brand (contraction of the Kennedy name), marketed his textiles in large and medium distribution and became a real fashion accessory for children and adults alike. the big ones. The famous slogan was born in 1970.

From 80 to 90, the Kindy factory innovates and will experience incredible growth! It became the French leader in the manufacture of socks and obtained several licenses – Walt Disney, Asterix, Adidas, etc – which allowed it to climb in notoriety and expand its sales internationally. The plant even went public in 1994.

This success will not last, the Kindy company would begin to live through difficult times as soon as China entered the world competition organization in 2001 and thereafter, despite the strategies put in place to increase the figure. business suffered a considerable decline in 2016.

The Kindy factory escaped the worst when it threatened to close its doors in 2017. Two entrepreneurs Thierry Carpentier and Salih Halassi could not imagine seeing this French symbol disappear and saved this industry from the sock of disaster.
