Created under the reign of Charles II by the edict of Pîtres, this art workshop has been located at 11 Quai de Conti since 1775.
A real natural visit, the Paris Mint offers a fun tour around the metal art. We also discover a precious objects collection, the production secrets and the remarkable savoir-faire of this manufacturing facility still in operation in Paris.
Since 2007, the Paris Mint is a public establishment of an industrial and commercial nature. It has around 500 employees and is divided into two sites: The Hotel of the Paris Mint and the monetary establishment of Pessac, in Gironde.
Apart from its sovereign mission, the Paris Mint also practices commercial activities such as the creation of fonts of art objects and jewels, under its own brand. In addition, the establishment is also in charge of the museum management and the Hotel of Paris Mint maintenance. It contains a centre at Pessac responsible to analyze and fight against the forge coins in all of Europe.
